Wildlife with Zoophyte

As many of the GDJians would already realise, among our talented crew is a certain fella with a musical twang. Cam Lee, together with James, James and Andrew (yes, there’s two people called James) are better known as Zoophyte, the group rocking Melbourne’s indie scene to its foundations with bombastic beats and occasional dalliances into funk and reggae.

With a special guest appearance from Cam’s brother Andy Lee on trumpet and vocals, the boys were in fine form last Friday at the Evelyn, in Fitzroy, with a great crowd at the latest of their performances. The GDJ crew was out in support, revelling in the atmosphere of live music and alcohol. With the boys soon off to WA, there’s not many more opportunities to see them before they leave.

As is evident, Cam was on fire skilfully jumping from guitar to the didge. If you haven’t had the opportunity of seeing Zoophyte live, then you’re missing out on one of Melbourne’s true original music experiences and what we all think is going to be the next big thing!
